Waterfalls

Most of the waterfalls found on the North Shore are within our four state parks.  From cascading falls to the highest waterfall in the state, each is awe-inspiring in its own way!

There are many places in Lake County where you can find beautiful waterfalls. Below will be a list of links with maps of state parks featuring amazing waterfalls.

Gooseberry Falls State Park features three waterfalls along the Gooseberry River. Appropriately named Upper, Middle, and Lower falls, the Gooseberry Falls are a hotspot for photographers to take breath-taking shots of the powerful Gooseberry River.

Split Rock Lighthouse State Park has a section of trails linked with the Superior Hiking Trail which passes several waterfalls along the trail. The trail ends with a spectacular view of Lake Superior.

Tettegouche State Park showcases one of the highest waterfalls in Minnesota. The water is sourced from the Baptism River which also features the Two Steps Falls which is further upstream. Tettegouche State Park is a hotspot for anyone who enjoys waterfalls.

The George H. Crosby Manitou State Park presents some of the most amazing waterfalls along the North Shore. Despite being some of the more challenging waterfalls to get to, the Cascade Waterfalls are sure to be worth the difficult endeavor.
